Klotten

Blick von den Weinbergen auf Klotten

Not only wine but also slate has shaped the village of Klotten.

It was from here that the famous "Moselle slate" was loaded onto barges and shipped all over the world.

The village is full of narrow streets, steps and passageways that lead past stone buildings and half-timbered houses, many of which date from the 16th century. The ruins of the medieval Coraidelstein castle preside over the village.
